Following the successful delivery of the shaft liner works on the Thames Tideway Tunnel Project in London, Slipform Engineering was selected by SAK & Shea JV to support the I-35 Capital Express Central Drainage Tunnel Project in Austin, Texas.
Slipform Engineering’s role included the design and supply of specialist slipform equipment, together with operational management, technical support and pre construction planning services for the construction of eight reinforced concrete shaft liners along the I-35 corridor through Downtown Austin. The project forms part of a major infrastructure investment aimed at improving flood resilience and supporting the long term development of one of Austin’s busiest transport corridors. With the first shaft nearing completion, Slipform Engineering continues to strengthen its presence within the North American tunnelling and underground infrastructure sector, with further opportunities currently being explored across the United States.
